Drop the Mic

Director: James Blannin-Ferguson

Produced: Nathaniel CT Jackson

Dur: 4:10

Black and White

Aspect: 2.39:1

Drop The Mic brings to screen the story of Kieran ‘Duke’ Burns; a wrestling announcer afflicted by the rare, muscle weakening disease known as Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS).  Filmed over 2 days at Duke’s apartment and at the Kostya Tszyu gym in Rockdale, the use of black and white, ominous lighting and talcum powder wafting through the air adds to the drama and moody tone of ‘Drop The Mic’.  The film has won numerous awards and has screened at festivals in Australia and worldwide, including the Academy accredited Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis. It has also gone on to be broadcast on several TV channels in the US.
